Nurturing healthy relationships
Relationship: /rɪˈleɪʃ(ə)nʃɪp/
plural noun: relationships
the way in which two or more people or things are connected, or the state of being connected.
Our relationships with others is key to our wellbeing. Our relationships add so much to how much we feel valued and whether we feel we belong. They form our community and we either feel a part of it or on the outside.
Whether we are thinking about family relationships, romantic relationships or friendships there are some important things to understand about the way we treat others and they way they treat us. Some of our relationships we can’t change, but it helps to understand how they may make us feel, and why. Some of our relationships we choose… and its great if we know how to pick and grown good ones. How do we make sure a relationship is healthy? How do we know if someone is good or bad for us to be around? If our wellbeing is suffering and we don’t feel our valued, cared for or listened to then it may be a sign our relationships are not as healthy as they could be.
