Welcome to Good To Be Me - a creative, small-group intervention programme designed to nurture emotional literacy, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.

Created by Golddigger Trust this resource is designed to strengthen emotional wellbeing in primary schools, equipping staff with practical tools to support pupils before challenges escalate.

Good To Be Me is a targeted, ‘light-touch’ early intervention designed for key stage 2 and 3 pupils who may be experiencing hidden distress, emotional dysregulation or reduced engagement with school. The programme equips a relevant member of staff - such as a Teacher, HLTA or Learning Mentor - to facilitate five structured small-group sessions with up to ten pupils at a time.

Using interactive, hands-on and reflective approaches, the sessions create a safe and honest space outside of the classroom where pupils can:

  • Develop emotional literacy and self-awareness

  • Learn practical tools for emotional regulation

  • Strengthen peer relationships and healthy friendships

  • Build resilience, hope and motivation

  • Increase their sense of belonging within school

The resource includes bespoke physical materials - including board games, LEGO-based activities and card resources - carefully designed to make conversations about emotions accessible, engaging and meaningful. The creative delivery model supports trusted relationships between pupils and staff, encouraging openness and participation.

Good To Be Me represents a shared investment in Sheffield’s children - recognising that when pupils feel understood, equipped and valued, they are better able to engage, thrive and succeed.

The children really opened up and felt confident to talk about some of their own personal home life situations and things they are or have been dealing with.
It just showed how safe the space and group must have felt for them to do that.
