If you are working with a young person in school years 7-13 or equivalent (aged 11-18) in Sheffield who you think would benefit from some extra support from our team and the projects we run, you can recommend them to us here.
To do this you’ll need to download our referral form and complete it in full, including the final section which is to be completed by the young person you are referring. Please return completed forms to:
The Golddigger Trust Centre for Young People,
10 Psalter Lane,
What happens next?
If the information provided shows the young person meets our criteria, then our team will invite the young person (and if appropriate, a parent/carer) to book in for a face-to-face initial chat with one of our youth workers. During this session they will explain the support that Golddigger Trust can offer, and discuss the next steps with them, as well as the offer for a 1-2-1 chat if the young person would like to. These sessions usually last around 30 minutes.
We aim to contact the young person/carer with an online link to book an initial chat within 2 weeks- if you haven’t received this after 2 weeks (usually a text or email), please do get in touch with us. Our online ‘initial chat’ booking system will give you options of different time/day slots- this includes ‘day time’ slots within the school day as well as limited after school slots. This slot is JUST for the initial chat, all other ‘community’ support takes place outside of the school day for those who are in full time education, unless the provision is commissioned by the school.
Young people’s engagement in our support is voluntary and your support in this transition to our service is really helpful. We have found that the most successful route to engagement is through referrer’s ongoing support, so where possible, please continue your involvement at least during this process.
Please note that Golddigger Trust’s work focuses on supporting young people’s holistic wellbeing and that we are not a replacement for a referral to specialist or clinical services if such support is deemed necessary. We are very happy to contribute to a multi-agency approach to support, and are unable to provide crisis or case management care.
Provision will most likely be offered at the Golddigger Trust Centre for Young People which is walking distance from both Abbeydale Rd and Ecclesall Road (both major bus routes), and 1 mile from Sheffield City Centre (The Moor Market). If accessibility to this venue is a problem please contact us to discuss the possibility of booking our team to come out to deliver our projects in your school or youth work setting (across South Yorkshire) instead.
Golddigger Trust is a registered charity and our services are currently funded by voluntary donations and grants. Whilst we work in partnership with statutory agencies, we are not currently funded by these sources, and so we are always grateful to those who are able to fundraise or donate to keep our valuable services open and free at the point of use for young people.
